Film censorship
Film censorship is the removal of material which may be considered offensive, sensitive, or harmful in accordance to a media censor, this is usually generalized and avoided by the introduction of age restrictions or recommendations for films in Britain we have the BBFC(British Board of Film Classification). This classifies films and certifies them for public distribution, alongside several acts of Parliament such as the obscene publication Act.
They're role is important to the film industry because they don't audience to see something that is going to offend them or seeing sexual scene of someone being rape can be controversial as they role can stop the film people from what they are doing is not right the people, the role is so important that the directors of the films are not being bias for example showing a historical film if the context is one sided this can cause the film to be censored.they role is to protect the public from anything offensive or could cause any harm.
In the case of films shown in cinemas, local authorities have the final legal authorisation over who can view a particular film. The majority of the time, local authorities accept the Board's recommendation for a certificate for a film. There have been some notable exceptions – particularly in the 1970s when the Board allowed films such as Last Tango in Paris and The Exorcist to be released with an X certificate (essentially the same as today's "18") – but many local authorities chose to ban the films regardless. Thirty-nine local authorities in the UK either imposed an outright ban, or effectively banned by imposing X certificate, on Monty Python's Life of Brian, which the BBFC had rated as AA (Suitable for ages 14+).
Conversely, in 2002, a few local authorities, apparently under pressure from distributors and cinema chains, ignored the BBFC's ruling that Spider-Man receive a 12 rating, and allowed children younger than 12 to see the film. However, the BBFC were already in the process of replacing the 12 rating with a new 12A, which allowed under-12s to see the film if accompanied by an adult, so shortly afterwards, Spider-Man was reclassified as 12A. The first 12A certificate awarded was for The Bourne Identity.
What is the difference between films being cut and films being banned? Examples
If a film is cut any scenes that that the BBFC have deemed to be innappropriate and offensive they will not be permitted to be realased with the film the director must then cut this scene from the film or edit it the scene diluting its affectivness, inorder tio allow it to be aired or reach the cinema. Later on the director may realease an 'UNCUT' DVD version contain all the original scenes fro the film giving the viewer the option to see what wasn't permitted upon release.
However if the film was banned it is completely unable to reach cinema because either there are too many unacceptable scenes or the director refuse to cut the scenes that the BBFC said too. If they fail too listen the film is banned and will not be in cinema or promoted for viewing.

For censorship :Forna
The use of racial themes can cause racism around the audience whose viewing and it will cause major issue in the society.Social stereotype can offend people around the community, illegal act can encourage their acts on people to do something to hurt each other within the society. woman being rape can make the audience enjoy whats being shown in front them which can lead to problems.
Against censorship: kermode
Being told what yo can't and can watch is not acceptable how you suppose to know whats wrong and right if you don't watch something that is terrible a person have to make their own decision they shouldn't be forces to follow the rule.
Fear of expression, its against human rights people have freedom of speech that means that they can make their own decision and do whats please them and no one shouldn't stop them on what they believe into. its also their opinion know whats real and whats not real by watching the film on screen. Its peoples decision to response in certain way if their don't like whats being shown to them they can stop watching it no one is forcing them to watch it.
I support censorship because, it protect the public from anything offensive, watch can being the community together instead of destroying it and i believe that a lot of crimes happen through what stuff we see which leads people to kill one another. censorship is very good for controlling what it can be shown and what it can be shown.
